He holds a degree in Mathematics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, PUC-RJ (1980), a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, PUC-RJ (1982), and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Biophysics and Immunology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, UFRJ (1990). He is currently an adjunct professor in the Department of Immunology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The main research areas developed in his laboratory are: ontogeny and selection of the immunoglobulin repertoire, B lymphocyte development, and immune tolerance.
