Flávia Lima do Carmo holds a PhD in Plant Biotechnology and Bioprocesses from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), 2011. She joined UFRJ as a faculty member in 2014 and served as the Coordinator of the UFRJ Innovation Agency for 7 years. At IMPG, she holds the position of Assistant Professor and coordinates the Molecular Microbial Ecology Laboratory (LEMM). She also serves as the Coordinator of the Innovation and Business Chamber of the Unit. Her research focuses on innovation, intellectual property, molecular microbial ecology, biotechnology, environmental microbiology, microbial diversity, bioprospecting, and bioremediation of ecosystems impacted by oil, particularly in marine and coastal environments.
