I became a Full Professor through a public examination based on qualifications and experience held in May 2011. I have supervised twenty-six (26) PhD students as the primary advisor and have published one hundred and eighty-six (186) papers in internationally indexed journals, where in the majority, I am the corresponding author. More recently, in a publication in the renowned journal PLoS Biology, the 100,000 most-cited scientists in the world were listed. This research, conducted by a team from Stanford University (USA), selected six hundred (600) scientists from Brazilian institutions who are among the top 100,000 most-cited scientists globally, according to their careers, i.e., the “top” 2% of the table-S6-career-2019.
