She holds a degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2003), a Master’s in Science (Microbiology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2005), and a PhD in Science (Microbiology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2009). She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Microbiology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Her training in Medical Microbiology, with an emphasis on anaerobic bacteria, and her collaborations in studies of human and animal microbiota have provided a deeper understanding of the physiology and virulence of various microorganisms and microbial communities.
