Letícia de Albuquerque Maranhão Carneiro

She holds a degree in Nutrition from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (1999), a master’s degree in Microbiology (Clinical Bacteriology) from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2001), and a Ph.D. in Sciences (Microbiology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and the Institut Pasteur, Paris (Unité de Immunité Innée et Signalisation) (2006). She completed her postdoctoral training in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto, Canada (2006-2010). She was a visiting professor at Rockefeller University in New York (USA) from 2016 to 2018.

Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Immunology at the Institute of Microbiology Paulo de Góes at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She has experience in the fields of Microbiology and Immunology, with an emphasis on Innate Immunity and Host-Pathogen Interactions. She is a CNPq productivity fellow (level 2) and a “Scientist of Our State” fellow from FAPERJ. She is the mother of Olivia and was on maternity leave from January to July 2020.
