She is an Associate Professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, a Procientist, Scientist of the State of Rio de Janeiro, a Level 1D Productivity Fellow, and the Coordinator of Microbiology Research Groups at CNPq. Her work focuses on Medical Microbiology and Public Health. She is a collaborating researcher with the Ministry of Health and global surveillance networks in Diphtheria, including DIPNET/WHO. With over 20 years of professional experience, she has received 20 awards from Academic Institutions and Research Funding Agencies, participated in more than 70 Research Projects, published over 140 articles in journals and 10 book chapters, served on 172 thesis committees and 33 judging committees, supervised over 70 academic works, and conducted 7 postdoctoral supervision projects.
