She holds a degree in Biological Sciences – Genetics Modality from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1992), a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1994), and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1999). She is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She has experience in the field of Immunology, with an emphasis on Cellular Immunology, primarily working on the following topics: Chagas disease, oxidative stress in infectious diseases, and Chagas cardiomyopathy.
