He is a Professor at the Institute of Microbiology Paulo de Góes, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IMPG/UFRJ), a member of the Graduate Program in Microbiology (UFRJ), a Young Scientist of Our State (FAPERJ), and Coordinator of the Environmental Microbiology Area at the Brazilian Society of Microbiology (SBM). He holds a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences, a Master’s in Plant Biotechnology (Feb 2008), and a Ph.D. in Science (Microbiology) from UFRJ (2013).
He has expertise in Microbial Ecology (with an emphasis on Molecular Biology), particularly in the following areas: plant growth-promoting bacteria, biogenic acidification control, biocorrosion, sulfate-reducing bacteria, hydrocarbon-degrading bacteria, bacterial diversity, and diversity of functional genes
