Kátia Regina Netto dos Santos

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from UERJ (1981), a Master’s in Science (Microbiology) from UFRJ (1987), and a PhD in Science (Microbiology) from UFRJ (1997). She is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a Scientist of Our State awardee from FAPERJ, and a CNPq Researcher (Level 1C). She served as the Undergraduate Teaching Coordinator from 2010 to 2015, Vice Director of IMPG from 2016 to 2019, and is currently a counselor for CEG-UFRJ. She is registered as a supervisor in the Graduate Program in Science (Microbiology) at the Institute of Microbiology Paulo de Góes, UFRJ, CAPES Level 7. She has experience in Medical Microbiology, mainly in studies involving Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative Staphylococcus: Molecular and Phenotypic Diagnosis, Molecular Detection of Antimicrobial Resistance and its Correlation with Conventional Techniques, Aspects Related to Virulence and Epidemiology of Staphylococcal Infections.
