He works in the field of combating infections caused by fungi, studying secretion mechanisms in pathogenic fungi and the search for new antifungals. He holds a degree in Pharmacy from UFRJ and a PhD in Microbiology from the PPG-Micro program. Institution: He is a permanent advisor in the Microbiology graduate program at UFRJ and a professor in the General Microbiology Department at the Institute of Microbiology, UFRJ. Currently, he is seconded to the Carlos Chagas Institute at Fiocruz-PR, where he coordinates the International Research Unit of the Pasteur Institute called “Extracellular Vesicles of Fungi.”
