Marco Antônio Lemos Miguel

He holds a degree in Biological Sciences from Universidade Gama Filho, a Master’s in Biological Sciences (Microbiology) from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, and a PhD in Food Sciences from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. He is currently an Associate Professor at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, where he coordinates the Food Microbiology Laboratory. He works in the field of Microbiology, with an emphasis on Food and Environmental Microbiology. His research focuses on the following topics: water and food microbiology, biopreservation, development of new microbial fermentations, bacteriocins, lactic acid bacteria, food quality, and methods for microorganism conservation and detection.
