Professor at the Institute of Microbiology Professor Paulo de Góes, Visiting Professor at the University of California, Davis (2017-2020), and a permanent member of the Graduate Programs in Microbiology (UFRJ) and Plant Biotechnology and Bioprocesses (UFRJ). Former National Coordinator of the Environmental Microbiology Division of the Brazilian Society for Microbiology (2012-2016). She received an Honorable Mention in the Capes Award for Best Doctoral Dissertation in 2005. She has an h-index of 41, with over 90 articles published in indexed international journals, and is a pioneer in the development of probiotics for corals, a study that has received significant international recognition. She has supervised or is currently supervising 15 doctoral theses, 15 master’s theses, 15 postdoctoral researchers, and over 50 undergraduate research projects, monographs, and specialization studies.
