She holds a degree in Pharmacy, a Master’s in Morphological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2001), and a PhD in Microbiology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2008). She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Virology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She worked as a National Professional at the OIE reference laboratory at the Pan American Foot-and-Mouth Disease Center OPAS/WHO. She has expertise in Microbiology, with an emphasis on Virology, focusing on diagnostic methods, molecular epidemiology, seroepidemiology, and the production and validation of immunoassays.
